1999 Dodge Dakota R/T By Cody Bartley
This is my Mopar:
I bought this truck about 3 months ago so I haven't had it long. I actually had a 2000 Dakota Sport with the 3.9L V6 until a lady in a delivery truck pulled out in front of me in the rain. My Sport was yellow and looked identical to this one. The "Mopar II" sticker in the back window comes from my Sport, it originally said "Mopar" in the back window, since Loved that truck so much this is my memorial to her, {Rest in Peace sweetheart...}
Ok The truck is for the most part stock. The 360 C.I. powerplant is breathing good out of both ends with a K&N cool air intake and a set of headers. Right now I'm running open headers because I have been fooling with the exhaust trying to get it to sound the way I want it
I can't ever get the time to work on it so it has been this way for a few days. I think I'm gonna go with a flowmaster 50 series muffler for it. The factory 17" R/T wheels are getting hugged by Kumho Ecsta 255/50/r17 {which are by the way very sticky tires...}. The bed cover is provided by A.R.E. and was there when I bought it.
I wasn't too crazy for the spoiler due to all the goofy looking imports that use them but it grew on me. I want to get a ram air hood for this thing cause I think it will really set it off. The sound system is provided by me. I'm an audio freak and only like a certain sound. I built a set of boxes for some 12" subs and believe it or not they fit nice and snug behind the seats. The stereo is a Sony Xplod series and it's hooked to a 100 watt amp.
The whole speaker and sub system is Pyle. It's not a lot right now but I have a 2000 watt 2 channel amp and a 1000 watt 4 channel amp on the way that I built the system for. I don't belong to any clubs right now, I did enter it in a car show earlier this year in Tompkinsville Ky. I had a lot of older guys come up to me and say they have owned a lot of mopars over the years and that was one of the best looking ones they had ever seen. You don;t know how good that made me feel. That's all i'll bore you with for now keep checking in on me as I am constantly making changes to this beast. Thanks for looking at my R/T.
