2005NovemberSubmit Or Update Your Mopar
1998 Dodge Dakota R/T By Mike Richardson
This is my Mopar:
This is my 1998, After 2 years of driving crappy cars, I finally found exactly what I wanted, and it became mine on July 8, 2005. The truck currently has 55,000 miles on it, and has never been driven in the snow and I try not to drive it in the rain unless I really have to.
The only modification to the truck when I got it was a Stillen Rollpan and a K&N air filter. Since owning the truck, I have added (in order):
MSD wires, cap and Accel plugs, Flowmaster dual exhaust with custom stainless steel tips, custom R/T stripe, tinted windows (had to take those off because I got a ticket),a 56mm throttle body spacer, and 4:10 gears. Other than those mods, the truck is completely stock, inside and out. I will be taking the truck off the road in the end of october and storing it in my garage. During that time, I have plans for some extensive performance upgrades.
These will include a set of Gibson headers (wrapped afterwards), K&N Fuel Injection Performance Kit (FIPK) intake, TransGo shift kit, and if money allows possibly a functional ram-air hood and aluminum cylinder heads. As far as the visual appearance goes, I am going to install 2" lowering blocks in the rear to level it out with the front of the truck and then add a Viper steering wheel (because the leather wrapping on mine is getting kind of worn out). I haven't raced or dynoed my truck, but I estimate that it will do the 1/4 mile in about 14.8 seconds and is putting out about 255-260 horsepower at the wheels.
