1971 Plymouth Duster By Josh Moreland
This Is My Mopar:
440 MAGNUM, HERE'S A PICTURE OF MY 71 PLYMOUTH DUSTER AT MY LOCAL DRAGSTRIP. THE CAR HAS A 360 POLICE MOTOR PUNCHED .030 OVER WITH .509 PURPLE SHAFT, M1 SINGLE PLANE INTAKE, 750 HOLLEY, ATI 8" CONVERTER, AND 4:56 COGS OUT BACK. I BOUGHT THE CAR WHEN I WAS 16 FOR 60.00 BUCKS. IT HAD A 225 THAT DIDN'T RUN BUT THE BODY WAS STRAIGHT. (STILL HAS FACTORY PLASTIC PLUGS IN QUARTER PANELS) RARE FOR AROUND HERE! AFTER ABOUT TWO YEARS OF PLUGGING AWAY IT'S BEEN RUNNING ON THE STIP FOR A GOOD FIVE YEARS NOW. I GREW UP AT THE STIP WITH MY DAD. WHO IS ALSO A LOYAL A-BODY MAN WITH A 72 DUSTER. THE QUICKEST TIMES ARE 8.05 @ 84 MPH IN THE 1/8. AND A 12.68 @ 102 MPH. NOT BAD BUT AS USUAL NEVER FAST ENOUGH. PLANS ARE IN THE MAKING FOR THE BIG BLOCK TRANSPLANTATION. I HAVE MOST OF THE PARTS (MOTOR, TRANS, REAR END) JUST NEED TO PUT IT ALL TOGETHER. I RUN POINTS AT PACEMAKERS RACEWAY PARK IN MT. VERNON OHIO BUT HIT MANY OTHER STRIPS IN THE AREA. GREAT WEB PAGE, CAN'T BELIEVE IT TOOK SO LONG TO FIND, SEE YA AT THE NATS. IN AUGUST HERE IN COLUMBUS.
