1998 Dodge Dakota R/T Club Cab By Jack Hilton
Mopar Of The Month December 2021:
Just thought I would drop you a few pics of my beauty. She is a 1998 Dodge Dakota R/T Club Cab, finished in Black. As with all Dakota R/Ts , she has the 5.9L Magnum , 46RE A-518 Overdrive Tranny , One-Piece Aluminum Driveshaft , 3.92 Sure Grip gears snugged into a 9.25" Rear , a unique exhaust system which features a 2-in-1-out cat. and a Dynomax Ultra Flow muffler that raises the HP rating on the R/T to 250 from the standard 5.9L's 245. I have done a little bit of work to my truck to get her to run a 14.79 at the '99 Mopar Nationals. Mods Include:
- Magnecore Wires
- Borg-Warner Brass Distributor Cap & Rotor Button
- 180 Degree Thermostat
- Ported & Polished Throttle Body
- 14x3" Open Element Air Cleaner with a K&N Element
- JBA Cat-Forward Ceramic Coated Headers & Matching Downpipes
- Street Scene Speed Grille
- 5% Window Tint
When I am at the track, I add the following:
- M/T Drag ET 28x10.5x15 Slicks mounted on Dakota 15x8 rims
- Serpentine belt which bypasses the AC and Power Steering
