1970 Dodge Challenger T/A By Nina Martenson
This Is My Mopar:
I have to tell you about my husbands racecar, a 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A. It's a former Paul Rossi Super Stocker during the 70's. This car have a 446" Mopar engine with a small Nitrous Oxide system, a 727 tranny plus a Dana 60 axle with 4.10:1 gear. This season the Challenger ran 9,91 on a 1/4 mile (730 hprs...) Its weight is 3,500 lbs.
Above: The Challenger run by Paul Rossi.
This car has a racey history and it has almost always been a racecar. Paul Rossi bought the car from Dave Koffel and was remodified into a Super Stocker in 1973. The original engine, a 340 T/A, was used in Nascar and the car was left over. Paul Rossi had a 'Cuda and this Challenger became his next racecar.
Above: Sylvia Hauser from UK is one of the owners on the Challenger and raced it in Super Gas
Above: Another picture of the Challenger in 1985, raced by Sylvia Hauser. It had a vary of colors during Hausers time, those are two I've found on the Challenger
Above: The Challenger is being picked up by my husband summer -98. (from a movie, bad pictures).
Above: On the rear window you find the original Dodge-sign, it has been there since its haydays and Paul Rossi.
Above: This is a picture of the Challenger as it look like today. Now the car is going back to a Super Stock racecar. The Challenger is built for Super Stock from the beginning.
With kind regards,
Katarina Martenson, owner of a 1972 Charger Rallye 440 + 4spd in Sweden
