This is my Mopar:
10/2/2014 Update - 1967 Plymouth Barracuda, one of my never ending
projects. Built to be a daily driver and occasional show car, it has
been evolving into more of a drag car. Many of the changes were made by
necessity. When my son borrowed the car and had a front end collision, I
needed to replace that sheet metal. Unable to find decent metal
components I installed fiberglass fenders and front valance/header
panels/hood and added '68 grill. The 7&1/4 rear was needing attention. I
chose to narrow a Dana 60 rather than keep the weaker small rear
including 4.10 gears and Moser axles. Although the 318 that had been in
the car was adequate for daily use, it wasn't up to the amount of HP I
wanted. The 408 stroker produces 520 HP and still runs on pump gas.
I chose a full manual reverse pattern 727 & a 3800 stall TCI converter,
because I wasn't confident that the 904 would last behind 500+ HP.
I removed the power steering after getting tired of fluid leaks. It
helped to clean up the engine compartment too. I designed the logos on
my tail stripe and air cleaner. I even used my own computer printer to
make the air cleaner decals. That front end collision my son had took
out the right front suspension and radiator. I decided to switch over to
big bolt pattern and 4 wheel discs with WELD Rodlites. M/T cheater
slicks & Goodyear frontrunners. Also added
3 core Champion aluminum radiator and subframe connectors. In an attempt
to stay with an 'old school' theme I decorated my helmet to match. I
also built a 1/18 scale model while I was at it. John's Barracuda was
originally featured in
December 2013.
