We purchased this vehicle in August
of 2007 for me to use as a winter driver. It was our friend's
sisters car, and currently had some freeze plugs leaking, and she
caused it to overheat. They wanted to get rid of it so she could get
a new vehicle, and didn't want to put anymore time or money into it.
This was their loss, my gain. We picked it up for only $1,000! It
needed ALLOT of attention. It had I believe about 189,000 miles on
it when we got it. We pulled the head and had it sent to the local
machine shop to make sure it wasn't cracked or warped. It had a
small warp area in it, so they fixed it and did a valve job at the
same time. We replaced all the freeze plugs, head gasket, etc. New
fan, radiator, etc.. did a lot of work. Then we had to bring the
body back, it needed a good wax, and the body panels needed
refreshed. We shampooed the interior, cleaned up the wheels.. etc.
For Christmas that year, I wanted a lift.. my boyfriend got me a
Rancho 3" suspension lift kit for it, and we installed it. Put on
31" BFG All-Terrains, then decided to go with a limited slip rear
and installed that as well, and serviced the front dif. From there,
just drove it all winter long that year.. it currently has 201,000
miles on it. Granted, before I bought it, it had a reman tranny
installed also. So practically, its all but brand new under the
hood. Its served me well so far, and hope to hold onto it for a
while! Lets see how many miles she'll go!
