Recently, my wife and I celebrated our 25
year wedding anniversary. For some time, she said she thought it would
be nice to have a convertible to drive on nice days. Her preference was
a mid 90’s Mustang (!?). Early this year, when we started getting more
serious about the possibility of getting a convertible, she realized the
Mustangs were a dime a dozen and we decided to hold off for awhile.
In the mean time, I was talking about this with a co-worker and he
mentioned that his in-law’s bought a convertible new in 1985, and since
they were getting up in age, it was spending most of the time in his
garage. Since he is a Chevy guy, he told me he did not know what to do
with this ‘danged old Dodge’. I quickly mentioned that he should show it
to me and let me know if his in-law’s were thinking about selling it.
After some discussions, the deal was set, and 2 days before our wedding
anniversary, I drove the 600 home and tossed the keys to my wife. This
may not have been the most practical anniversary gift, but it was well
worth it when I saw her reaction.
The 600 has just over 65,000 miles on it and is in excellent condition
as you can see by the pictures. It even comes with original 1985 WHITE
mud flaps. You don’t see that very often these days.
