1967 Coronet R/T
Model By Andy Wiest |

Here's a mopar that i hold near and dear to my
heart. I build model mopars of my real cars. But
since the real ones get enough recognition I
figured it was time to give the model a chance at
fame. Id like you to meet Desi, more commonly know
as the black beast. She's a 1967 Coronet R/T with
a 426 Max Wedge III Crossram. The real car runs
almost 900hp and 1000 ft/lbs of torque. Its a
street legal car but far from streetable. She's a
wheel stander and feared in this little rice
rocket overrun town. As for the model, I started
with Revell-Monograms 1967 Coronet R/T kit, and
there 1969 Dodge Charger kit. I swaped the
chargers 440 into the coronet and installed a
crossram manifold from an old drag racing promo
kit. I then started work on the body. It is
painted in a Double black scheme (black int. and
ex.) The paint is Krylons High Gloss Black. With
Krylons clear lacquer overcoat (5 coats sanded
between each) The engine wiring is 100% accurate
to the real car. The interior is complete with
steering column mounted tac., cb radio, GPS, radar
detector, 5-point harnesses, and original shifter.
The wheels were donated from revells 67 charger
drag coustom, and are Cragar/Ansman Keystone
Classics, on goodyear polyglas gts. The real car
runs 9s in the quarter mile. Hope ya like. |
