1973 Plymouth
Duster By

Thanks for posting my
car. It is a 1973 Duster that my parents and I have been working on for
three and a half years. It started as a Junker with a 318-2bbl, auto on
the column, bench seat, brown car; but it has changed. It has had two
engine swaps before the 340, a transmission swap, and a rear end change (8
1/4, still 2.76 gears), the interior now is all black w/ bucket seats, hurst
floor shifter, full array of AutoMeter gauges, and a
Kraco 8-track player. The engine is now
bored 0.060" over w/ ported X-heads, comp cam,
edelbrock performer RPM intake and carb. I have
raced it several times with consistent low 14 second
slips. Not the fastest thing, but it looks good
going down the track. Just a few days ago, we got it
back front the paint shop with it's fresh lemon
twist on it. We got the blacked out hood treatment
from a 1971 Duster ad, and had to have it. Before the paint job, we won
several second and third place trophies, but now were looking for 1st and
best of show hopefully. I am in college now, and only see it on weekends
when I go home, so my parents take care of the weekly cruise-ins while I'm
here studying. Thanks again. |
