Here are a few pics of my Challenger; I bought it in 2000 a few
days after my 17th birthday in LA. It is a 1973
Dodge Challenger, it has a 318 and 3speed manual. I
fell in love with E-bodies from watching Nash
Bridges, I saved every cent I made for 3 years in
the hope of one day buying my own. When I bought it,
it was a rust red color with no interior and barely
ran
but over my senior year in high school I worked on
her every day just
restoring her piece by piece. I put a Holley 4
barrel carb, a bigger cam,
and other after market parts. I used my car as
a daily driver during high school and took it all San Diego. When it
came time for me to leave for school, my parents wouldn’t let me take my
car to school, saying that it wasn’t safe or reliable enough. So I
once again started to work and save for another car. When I started school
I put my car in storage at my uncle’s dairy. In July of this summer
I bought a red 1999 Mustang GT, which I have
to admit would just kick the crap out of my mopar in
a race, but I still love my Challenger more than
anything. I promise I usually wash my car, but the
pictures were taken on the night
that I took it out of storage. After being parked
for 10 months, I got into
it, pumped the gas pedal for a minute or so, and she
fired right up. She
may not be as fast as the mustang, or get nearly the
gas mileage, or be as
safe, but I will always be a Mopar guy at heart.
She was my first love, and
she always will be. Even though I guess I don’t
live by it, it’s MoPar or
NoCar. |
