This is my 1965 Dodge Polara. I purchased the car when
I was 15. I am now 21 and since
purchasing the car I have replaced the 383 2 barrel with a warmed over
440, added a sure-grip third member with 3.90 gears, a new interior,
Weld wheels, and I painted the car myself while in high school in body
shop class. The 440 consists of .030 TRW forged pistons, a mopar purple
shaft cam (.474 lift), 906 closed chamber heads that have had mild
polishing, Weiand single plane intake, holley 750 double pumper carb,
hedman headers, 3 inch exhaust with 3 inch 2 chamber flowmasters, a
3,000 COAN stall converter, and a manual/automatic cheeta valve body and
shifter. The car runs 7.90's in the 1/8 mile at 88 mph with 1.76 60 foot
times. This sled weighs 4,200 pounds with me in it. Not bad for a big
ole C body. |
