Hi, my name is Bruce
Beckwith, and here are a few pictures of my 1972 Plymouth Duster 340.
The lemon twist paint is in excellent condition, and the interior has been
recently re-upholstered and a custom headliner installed.
The interior has a black vinyl
split bench, new door panels and armrests and new carpeting. An
aftermarket stereo with 200 watt amp now resides where the old am
radio once called home. A Hurst 4 speed is changing gears for an
833 tranny.
A relatively mild 1969 340
block now calls the engine bay home. A Holley 650 cfm model 4150
with K & N filter and X-treme top now sits atop the original
intake however, a new Edelbrock Air Gap Intake is in my garage
right now. I will be installing that next week using new ARP bolts
along with a set of polygraphite bushings as my next project.
A chrome shroud has been
installed over the radiator and looks great. A set of aluminum
ceramic coated headers are installed and flow through a pair
of what else but Flowmasters. A rumpety rump cam opens
2.02" valves in mildly polished J heads. The 340 is still sparked
by a Prestolite dual point but that will give way to a hotter spark as
time and money allows.
The rear end is spinning an
8.75 diff with 3.23 street gears and a mopar performance pinion
snubber. The Ralley wheels may be replaced later on with Centerlines
but this is not carved in stone yet. ('m partial to Ralleys)
This car is a blast to drive and I regularly take it to local car
shows where I have won numerous trophys.
