1971 Dodge Charger R/T SE
By Steve Brock |

This is the car I drove in
high school. It was my first purchase and I still have it 20 years
later. I plan to be buried in it , which will require a large
hole. I'm serious and have purchased 3 burial plots side by side.
When I was 17 years old and my old man tried to get me to get rid of it I
told him I would still be driving it by choice when I'm 65!. It was
originally gun metal gray & then went through the hemi orange stage.
Four years ago I did a total restoration including new body bushings,
replacement of every bushing, tie rod etc. as well as new torsion bars and
super stock leaf springs. The paint is currently flip-flop pearl
black and wine berry , the interior is virgin leather w/new foam
padding underneath the leather. |

Notice the 8-pack license plate...that's
8-pack as in 2 960 cfm Predators with enough cam to back it up
although I'm told it still blows flames throw the exhaust...Because I
now live in Vegas (land of vanishing point highways) I've swapped the
the 411's in the dana to 355's which allows me to bury the 155 mph
speedo every time I take it out( which is all the time...I'm talking
38,000 hard miles since '96)...It was built for fun and transportation,
not for show, although it's obviously a head turner and intimidator at all
stop lights... With the sound of golf balls in the headers most people
people but won't make I contact...Which makes my next thought for vanity
plates "Y-even-try", minus the dashes obviously. |
