1975 Chrysler New
Yorker By Mikko

Here’s my car Chrysler New Yorker Brougham 4dr sedan -75.The car rolled
out from the Jefferson Avenue factory in Detroit on February 5th
1975 with the standard set of 440 cid engine, TF-727 automatic
transmission and 9 ¼ rearaxle. The optional equipment are heavy duty
alternator, automatic height control, auto-speed control, automatic brake
release, manual vent windows, tinted glasses, remote control right mirror,
electronic digital clock and chrome styled road wheels. The body color is
Formal black and roof is covered by black vinyl. Interior is blue with
cloth-and-vinyl seats. |
|
The car was originally registered in July 25th 1975 for a big
Finnish ship constructing company Wartsila (present days known as Masa-Yards).
The company used it for executive and vip transports. In October 29th
1990, after fifteen years of service it was retired from professional
use and sold to a doctor who lived in southern Finland. |
|
September 22nd 1993 I bought the car and became its third
owner. The car is still in original shape, I even found original build
sheet under the backseat. Though the Road Wheels have gotten lost
somewhere in Wartsila’s garage, but original wheel covers still exist.
These days you can see it on the road in summer times. In winter time I
keep it in a warm garage. Until today it has been driven 280 000
kilometers (175 000 miles).
